First Light Film Editing Competition For Young People

Please pass this on to any groups of young people that might be interested in this. The First Light website has other competitions available for young people.

WeVee Montage Competition

Young people aged between *5 and 25 *are invited to create a short film, using clips from the films nominated in the 2011 awards, for the chance of having their montage screened at Odeon Leicester Square in front a star-studded audience at the 2011 First Light Awards!

First Light has uploaded film clips of this year’s nominated films to the online editing platform, *WeVee*. We have also uploaded a short piece of music provided by *Cinephonix*. The WeVee platform enables young filmmakers to edit together these short films with the music. As the final film montage is then saved and stored on WeVee there is no need to post anything to us, it can all be done online!

The closing date is *Friday 14 February*, and the best three entries will be selected and screened on our website www.firstlightonline.co.uk on Monday 21 February where they will be put to a public vote to decide the winner.

All three shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to attend the First Light Awards which will take place on *15th March 2011* at* The Odeon, Leicester Square, London*, where the winning film will open the prestigious *First Light Awards Ceremony*.

To enter the competition, simply download the instuctions from our website tinyurl.com/4o5y3bg and complete your entry at www.wevee.co.uk. For inspiration, you can watch last year’s montage made by professional for last year’s ceremony here: tinyurl.com/28tkkgw .

This competition is in collaboration with the online platform WeVee & Cinephonix music library.
