Get Involved – Ollie Finn and AudioActive at Fabrica – 3 and 17 August

Get involved – Ollie Finn at Fabrica

Your favourite snare sample, a guitar riff that needs a little something? or that lush vocal hook.. Here’s your chance to have them processed & recorded in the fantastic space of Fabrica.

On the 3rd of August between 7-9pm, Fabrica’s artist in residence, Ollie Finn & AudioActive will be running their second interactive workshop In response to the work of Stephane Cauchy’s ‘Cascade’ now showing in the Fabrica gallery, Brighton.

Following on from the initial interactive looping workshop on 21st July, Ollie will be looking at the spacial processing of samples uploaded by YOU to be incorporated into improvisational works in the space by attending participants.

The samples will be played through AudioActives’ awesome d&b Audiotechnik Q series P.A system and recorded using SoundField ST450 microphones;

“While working with the sounds created by the installation we were able to create a varied and complex collection of compositions, from ‘dubstep’ to ‘ambient choral’ soundscapes. It was intriguing to watch how the these pieces altered my mood and in turn, the ways in which I interpreted Stephane’s work.”

Should you wish to submit samples to interact with the work and be processed in the gallery space please send files or links to; (no later than the 2nd of August)

To get an idea for the space and exhibition where your samples will be used, you can watch two short videos at

Your newly processed samples will be sent back to you after the workshop.

Samples should be no longer than 10 seconds long and a maximum of 3 samples per up-loader

Your samples will be used on the night as part of improvisational performances and may feature on footage documenting the show.

We also welcome you to enjoy and interact with the show LIVE, even if you won’t be uploading work. LOG IN, WATCH, CHAT AND INTERACT.
