Introducing Hijack

Hijack Family Fringe is a curated programme of shows and events especially for children aged 2-12 and their families from Saturday 25 May until Sunday 2 June 2013. Hijacking theatre, film, comedy, dance, music and digital, this nine day festival will take over Komedia Brighton, the outdoors and even the Jubilee Library!

This programme was initiated after a successful Brighton and Hove Children’s Festival 2012 which Komedia Productions co-produced with Brighton and Hove City Council and Brighton & Hove Arts Commission. There was a huge demand from audiences and partners alike for something to happen in the ‘off’ year, and teaming up with Brighton Fringe has allowed us to do that whilst working towards a bigger festival in 2014.

Brighton and Hove Children’s Festival has taken place every other April since 2005 and has reached a combined audience of 10,000 over its 5 years.

Hijack is headed up by independent producer Emily Coleman on behalf of Komedia Productions, the charitable organisation of Komedia Ltd.
